Lasik treatments for Myopia, Astigmatism

Procedure Description:

What To Expect:
Come in for a consultation, followed by Orbscan, Wavescan Tests. Thereafter book an appointment for the lasik therapy is given. The lasik takes 5 to 10 minutes . Usually evaluation and surgery will be carried out on the same day. No contact lenses for two weeks, no make up and no perfumes or
deodorants please, affects accuracy of laserAfter eye drops, cleaning and focussing the laser , the treatment starts with flap preparation which takes 10 Seconds,followed by laser therapy for half a minute. Finally the flap is replaced and you get off the couch. You will be able to read the wall
clock immediately. You leave the centre after a few minutes rest. You will be able to see but with some blurryness, After 5 hours you will see very well. But do rest your eyes and avoid reading
or watching TV for no more than ten minutes at a time for the next three days.

Preprocedure:
A mild sedative will be given and anesthetic eye drops applied to numb your eyes. Your eyes would examined and marked for the laser treatment. You will be accompanied by your personal nurse to the laser room. Wear something warm. You will be seated in an arm chair which will then be reclined to align you under the laser machine. The flap is made and then laser is applied onto your cornea in under 1 minute. Once one eye is treated successfully, your other eye may then be corrected in a similiar fashion.

Postprocedure:
Your eyes are not covered and you can start to see blurred vision initially. This will clear up after a few hours.You may see up to driving standards by the time you leave the office /surgery, and without glasses! However you can wear your sunglasses for comfort.Antibiotic and comfort eye drops will be supplied over the next two weeks.


Customised Lasik Laser Vision Correction

Procedure Description:

What To Expect:
A 10 minutes procedure .You wear warm clothing in the cold laser room. You sit on a reclining chair, which is positioned below the laser microscope, after anaesthetic eye drops that numb your eye, a speculum is placed between your eye lids to keep your eye open, a microkeratome is placed on your cornea to create the corneal flap in 10 seconds; laser treatment is carried out and completed in 30 seconds. The operation is completed with the flap replaced.You will be able to see the time on the wall clock immediately.

Preprocedure:
A mild sedative will be given and anesthetic eye drops applied to the eye.You proceed to the waiting area/couch when antiseptics are also applied. You will next go into the laser room which is quite cold, so wear something warm.Avoid perfumes, deodorants which may affect the laser beam.

Postprocedure:
Eyes are not covered and you can start to see blurred vision initially. This will clear over a
ambulatory surgery seeing 6/9 or 20/20 part fifteen minutes later.You could even drive home without spectacles.Antibiotic eye drops will be supplied for use over the next two weeks.

What To Expect:
It is a fast surgical procedure but be prepared for half a day of thorough tests and hence some waiting

Preprocedure:
